Hold the weekend! Yojack is back!! Plans are in process to drive to Tehachapi and enjoy this rustic small town during their Mountain Festival weekend on August 15 and 16. Please let us know if you are interested so we can get a headcount. We know this is a busy weekend for Corvetters, but this opportunity is special! We recognize the many conflicts. Life is all about the choices.
Jack and Yolanda Atkinson have volunteered to set this up. They are inviting the SCC and the Bakersfield Corvette Club to enter the Sunday car show. The registration form for the car show just went live March 4th so if we want to participate, it would need to be done ASAP to reserve a spot in the car show on Sunday. Each individual would pay directly for their car show entry. Entries are $40 each. But even if you don’t enter your car there’s plenty to do.

This event draws 50,000+ for the weekend and is really fun. For those that like Wine Tasting, there is a new wine tasting room in town and the local winery, Triassic Vineyards, was just at the 2020 competition at Fort Mason and took home their first Best of Class medal for their red blend wine. In addition, you can check out the link which shows the schedule for the weekend to include the Rodeo on Friday and Saturday night, carnival, Dinner and Dancing at the VFW, Pancake breakfast, Arts & Crafts Fair, Quilt display, etc.

Santa Clara would caravan on 8/15 for a buffet Hamburger/Tri-Tip lunch which Yojack would set up at the Parkfield Cafe for the group. Jack and Yolanda would meet us there. After lunch, we would head to Tehachapi. Yolanda has set up a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express and Fairfield Inn and Suites. In addition, she has talked to the car show personnel and if we come in together they will park us all together. Tehachapi closes down their main street for this show which is normally 300 cars and 50 motorcycles maximum. REPEAT: The registration form for the car show just went live March 4th so if we want to participate, it would need to be done ASAP to reserve a spot in the car show on Sunday. Each individual would pay directly for their car show entry.
Hope you all would like to join us for a fun-filled weekend! We’ll post more info as we firm it up.
